Workshops

Our next Saturday workshop will be with Karine Polwart on Saturday 26th May 2012. We're also running an evening workshop with Brendan Taaffe on Tuesday 14th February and will have an evening with David Francey in September this year. Every year we run a few extended evening or full-day Saturday singing workshops. Over the past few years we've had a tremendous selection of tutors for these workshops including Alison Burns, Karine Polwart, Emily Smith, Janice Clark, Yvonne Burgess, Sarah Harrop, Steve Byrne, Corinna Hewat, Gordeanna McCulloch, Maureen Jelks, Chris Miles, Aileen Carr, Alison MacMorland, Geordie McIntyre and Rod Patterson. Evening workshops include a light buffet supper and run from 7 to 10pm. Saturday workshops last from about 10am until 4.30pm (usually allowing plenty time for a bar lunch in the middle!) and are open to anyone interested in singing. You don't have to be a great singer, you just need to want to sing; young or old, talented or otherwise. The focus of each workshop is to have fun and learn new material in an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
We also periodically run weekend singing gatherings, either at Caputh Hostel in Perthshire each year or another local venue in Angus. This is a chance to come along to a singing workshop during the day, followed by a shared supper and then a session in evening. If we're based at Caputh, for those who don't want to miss the late night songs and wish to stay overnight, beds are available and can be booked in advance.
